美國人習慣晚上才去電影院，所以電影院通常下午場次會降價，
這種優待票稱做matinee，類似台灣的早場票。

其他一般的票券說法則有：
成人票 adult
學生票 student (with an ID)（附證件）
兒童票 children (under 12)（十二歲以下）
敬老票 senior (65+)（六十五歲以上）

另外，美國的電影分級制度如下：
普遍級 G (general audience)（各年齡均可）
建議父母陪同 PG (parental guidance suggested)
十三歲以下不宜 PG-13 (parents strongly cautioned)
未滿十七歲需陪同 R (restricted)
十七歲以下不得觀賞 NC-17 (no one 17 and under admitted)
